What is collaborative publishing?

First, let’s look at what it is not.

It is not traditional publishing, meaning we don’t pay you an advance — kudos to anyone able to land one these days — and we don’t leak book sales money to the process of warehousing, transporting, and returning books from bookstores.

It is not subsidy publishing, meaning we don’t present your book amid a field of thousands of uneven quality on a website that a potential reader must know to look for and will probably miss.

It is not self-publishing, in which the author assumes the responsibility of finding, assessing, assembling, coordinating, and paying a team of experts in every area that publishing a good book requires.

Collaborative publishing is an option that makes sense for authors by combining the selective literary standards of a traditional publishing company and the distribution power of new technologies.

  • Works with a variety of publicists to gain the book maximum exposure

The details

If we decide that your story is a good fit for one of our imprints, and displays or promises the high quality we require, we’ll talk. At that time we’ll show you our contract, complete with a menu of options to launch your book. There are many good and effective avenues you can follow and one may be right for you.

Or… just services

If you do not want to sign on with any publishing house and yet require help with your book, there’s another way to work with Cape House.

We offer a full complement of services that can be employed to edit, design, create, and set up your book for sales. Instead of signing a contract, we’ll charge you on an hourly basis.
